Looking back 2009.. by Vamparela!

MARCH 2009::::
The Prodigy released their fifth album Invaders must die on their new label "Take me to the hospital". Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Maxim came back after a 5 years absence. The critics were mixed, but the fans' response was positive.
It's Blitz, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs third album, came out. The album was produced by Nick Launey (producer of Arcade Fire, Nick Cave and Talking heads) and Dave Sitek, who is a member of Tv on the Radio and has worked as a producer with many bands sich as The Liars, the Foals and Nine Inch Nails. The critics praised the album. NME placed it at number 3 of its best albums of the year and Spin at number 2, while both magazines listed "Zero" as the best of the year. The album was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in December. It's Blitz was the right comeback for Karen O, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase.

The British Pet Shop Boys released their tenth album, Yes. The album is produced by Brian Higgins, who has also collaborated in the past with artists like Kylie Minogue, Bananarama, Sugarbabes, Texas and Saint Ettiene, and his production team Xenomania. The album was nominated at the 52nd Grammy Awards for Best Electronic/Dance Album.
Chris Cornell, born Christopher John Boyle, x lead singer and songwriter of the bands Soundgarden and Audioslave, releases his third album Scream. The producer of the album is Timbaland, an producer and rapper, who has worked in the past with many artists, such as Missy Elliot, Aaliyah, Beck, Jay Z, LL Cool J and Björk. The album received mixed critics.

The Toronto electronic music group MSTRKRFT, Jesse F. Keeler and Al P, released their second album Fist of god. The cover of the album is a collage of ladies' asses.
Röyksopp released their third studio album, Junior. Röyksopp areTorbjörn Brundtla and Svein Berge, originally hailing from a small town in Norway called Tromso. Many artists participated on this album, such as the swedish singer Robyn and Karin Dreijer Andersson of The Knife and Fever Ray."The Girl and the robot" was remixed by Kris Menace, Chateau Marmont and Spencer & Hill. "This must be it", the third single, has been remixed by Rex the Dog, Apparat and Thin White Duke among others.
Dan Deacon released Bromst. In an interview he stated that "Spiderman of the rings was very carefree and youthful - sort of partying for the sake of partying. This record is less about a party and more about a celebration."
The Decemberists' fifth album The Hazards of Love came out. the Decemberists come from Portland, Oregon and formed in 2000. The British 60s folk revival was a big influence on their album.
